1) Do not set your automatic login settings. Don't allow the computer to remember your password or username. Clear all cookies related to your e-mail from your browser, if you've already done that.
2) Set up a sign-in seal, if this is a Yahoo account. This protects from phishing, where someone creates a fake website to get your account informatiion. Go to http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/securit...
for instructions.
3) Whenever you log into your mail, ALWAYS sign out. Then, close the browser.
UPDATE: 4) Do not ever ever EVER give out your password to anyone (unless it's the change password page). LOL!
Good luck!
How do I keep others on this computer from viewing my Email?

Reply:depends are you using web based mail Like Yahoo! well if you are passwords normally work best but if your using file based programs like Microsoft outlook that connect automatically it is possible to put pass words on certain programs normally Microsoft outlook has this in settings/tools/options/preferences
Reply:make sure your email is password with something no one else could figure out, If you are on messenger and your mail is through there make sure the settings when you sign in doesn't automatically save ID and password, you may want to even change your sign in pass if others have access to it
Reply:make sure your e-mail account is set-up with a password that you can only access.
Reply:set email to password
Reply:Create a password for yourself so that nobody can get into your account. Start-Control Panel-User Accounts
